‘A157’ wins two awards in Italy

Behrouz Nouranipour documentary ‘A157’ on Daesh atrocities has won two awards at the International Festival Signes De Nuit organized in Italy.

Behrouz Nouranipour documentary ‘A157’ on Daesh atrocities has won two awards at the International Festival Signes De Nuit held in Italy.

‘A157’ has won both the Signs Award and the first award of the documentary section of the festival running in early April.

The 73-minute ‘A157’ is a shocking documentary about the horrors of war and terrorism in Syria, particularly inflicted on women and children.

"Iranian filmmaker Nouranipour approaches the fate of his protagonists [in ‘A157’] by reducing the visual level almost exclusively to the interior of the tent. This is where the girls huddle day after day, without expectations, alone, without protection," a catalogue text about the movie reads.

Winning the best documentary award at the 34th edition of the Fajr Film Festival, the doc has participated in many festivals and won many awards, including the Special Jury Award at the ninth edition of Iran’s 2015 Cinema verite in Tehran and an honorary diploma at the full-length documentary section of International Shahid Avini Award.

‘A157’ is a production by Soureh Documentary Center in Iran.
